The best shopping place in Lima is Gamerra. About five miles from the Temple. However, people in Gamerra often pray on the weak. Several months ago there were some serious problems and several people were killed. Now there is a heavy police presence and Kris and Cher drag me along for what they call protection. Gamerra is very interesting and the five or six block area swarms with shops and people. We usually take a bus and then an electrical train. The (PMP) Peruvian National Police are always interested in talking to Americans and when they learn I was a policeman they have a thousand questions. It was a fun trip. (The armoured vehicle is there just in case.)
