Merry Christmas from Jim's Family
This Christmas marks our 3rd and last Christmas in Peru as we will be returning to Virginia in August 2013. This year has not included much travel but we have enjoyed many things none the less. Bob and Kris (Jim's parent's) arrived in January for their 18 month Records Preservation mission in Peru. What a treat it has been having them close by and to watch them as they experience Peru. They have seen more of Peru and lived more Peruvian, if you will, then we will ever get to! Scott turned 18 years old and will be finishing up high school this coming year. He is launching into young adulthood! Bryce turned 14 this year and had the opportunity to travel to Chile for a swim meet. Of all of the boys Bryce has seen the most of Peru and enjoyed it the most. Cade turned 11 this December and is ready for the big life like moving into Boy Scouts and leaving elementary far behind. Luckily he hasn't broken an arm or had any surgeries this year! Our baby, we mean Will, turned 7 this year. He is still a happy little boy full of never ending energy! Will has picked up Spanish quite well and seems to fit right in with the Peruvian culture. Jim hasn't traveled much which has been nice because he is the dedicated seminary teacher to about 13 youth from the states. He wishes he could surf more but that is always the case! Cherilyn is anxious to return to the states but is grateful for 6 more months of Peru adventures. Her spanish is still terrible and she will be glad to be back in an English speaking country. Lucas, our German Shepard has lived with the family for over a year now and fits in great. He is 2 years old and a beautiful dog. Living in Peru these 3 years has really reminded us that when much is given much is required. There is so much need and so much work to be done in this beautiful country. We feel honored to have had this opportunity to live in Peru. We are grateful for a loving Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ. We wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
