Last night I attended Stake Conference. It is the first time in my life I did not understand a word they said. I felt like a little child. I was the longest two hours of my life. Today, Sunday, I took the conference Ensign and read. There were a couple of American's that spoke in Spanish, they go slow enough I can get a few words. On the way to church Scott (Jim's 16 years old) asked if we were getting paid to work at the Archives. Jim said they get paid in blessings. During the blessing today, Will (6 years old) asked that grandma and grandpa be blessed when they move into their hotel. (I wish).
The Peruvian people are so nice. Everyone know's Jim. He is the Seminary Teacher here and the volunteer Scout Master. Cher is the volunteer Cub Master. Scouting is not a program in South America so the members have to do the program or their kids do not advanced. The ward we attend is 50% Americans from the embassy, church employees and private business employees. There are a lot of mission presidents that attend. If they have children this ward is where all the families that speak English attend. Although the ward is conducted in Spanish there are head sets with English translated.
