Daniel
Waiting our turn
Daniel Acevedo and his uncle belongs to the same Ward we attend and he invited Kris and I to the Temple with him this Saturday morning. He departs for his mission to Ecuador this Wednesday (7-25-2012). He is a great young man with a very positive attitude. He told me, "Elder Bloomer, I am going to be the best missionary ever." For the past few months he has been working washing vehicles and doing other jobs at the Area Office to earn money for his mission. After Wednesday we most likely will never see him again.
Kris has become the unofficial photographer for the Ward. Not many can afford a camera in the ward, so Kris takes the photos and we have a few printed to hand out.
There are always members waiting patiently outside the Temple doors. It is necessary to enter, check the schedule, get a number and wait your turn. Since most sessions only accommodate 15 to 20 people, a two or three hour wait is not uncommon. Often members will travel great distances without an appoitment, just show up at the door and say, "we are here to be married."
