Testimony

I have a great love for Genealogy and Temple work. I feel especially privileged to participate in this great work in the latter days. We are getting a temple in Payson and our responsibility to this work is even greater. I am able to participate in photographing of genealogical records during the day because Bob set's up the books for picture taking. I can index all most of the day. I also find myself indexing in my spare time, evenings and in the middle of the night when I can not sleep.

I feel it is my gift to God to indexing and present these names to Heavenly Father as a gift for the temple. It is a privilege and sacred honor to work with these Spirits in Heaven. In Elder Richard G Scotts' Conference talk ( April 2012) he mentioned the spirits on the other side of the veil. 

Guidance given to President Joseph F. Smith: “I believe we move and have our being in the presence of heavenly messengers and of heavenly beings. We are not separate from them. … We are closely related to our kindred, to our ancestors … who have preceded us into the spirit world. We can not forget them; we do not cease to love them; we always hold them in our hearts, in memory, and thus we are associated and united to them by ties that we can not break. … If this is the case with us in our finite condition, surrounded by our mortal weaknesses, … how much more certain it is … to believe that those who have been faithful, who have gone beyond … can see us better than we can see them; that they know us better than we know them. … We live in their presence, they see us, they are solicitous for our welfare, they love us now more than ever. For now they see the dangers that beset us; … their love for us and their desire for our well being must be greater than that which we feel for ourselves.”¹

I can testify that these spirits are here and help us as we do research, indexing and temple work. I have felt their spirit and thanks for presenting their names. If you need a spiritual experience in your life, INDEX. It is our responsibility.

At conference in April 2005 Henry B Eyring said, "When you were baptized, your ancestors looked down on you with hope. … They rejoiced to see one of their descendants make a covenant to find them". 

My husband often talks about how Christ did sometime for us that we can not do for ourselves and that is the Atonement. We in turn need to do for our ancestors something they can not do for themselves and that is their temple work and to seal them as families. 

In this day of so many distractions finding something to do with our spare time that is uplifting and spiritual is hard, yet indexing provides a 24 hour 7 day a week opportunity to help our ancestors on the other side of the veil. Surely this work will continue through the millennium. The world has billions of records. In the archives of Lima Peru there is another 20 years of photographing needed to complete the work. 

Serving a mission with my husband is the best thing I ever have done. It is a great sacrifice to be away from family and friends but the sacrifice brings blessings to us and our family. I told my kids when I left to look for the blessing and you will find them. Look at this blog and see the fun that we are having. Heavenly Father needs couples in the mission field. They provide support and love that is so needed. We belong to a small ward called the La Molina Viejo Ward. We love these members. There ability to share the gospel with their friends and neighbors is a gift. They love the Lord and are a humble and believing people.

I love the Prophet, President Thomas S Monson. I have just finished reading his biography. Everyone should read it. My testimony of His life and service has increased ten fold. I love this man.
