Sunday

It is Sunday. Since my Spanish is limited I will tell you about my Sunday observations of the La Molina Viejo Ward. There are about 20 sisters in Relief Society. These sisters are so friendly. They know I do not speak much Spanish yet but they all give you the "Peruvian Kiss" and make sure you feel welcome. One thing I have to say for the Peruvian Sister is they are very animated and use facial expressions, hand and eye gestures when they are teaching their lessons. The Sunday School teacher is so entertaining and fun I have to remind myself she is teaching in Spanish.

Sometimes I read the Ensign or new Era in Sacrament meeting. Peruvians have no concept of time. Sacrament can go over 30 minutes and it is all part of the Peruvian way. I was reading a Nov 2011 conference talk today and the comment was made in one talk that Harold B Lee once said, "conference is to comfort the afflicted and to afflict the comfortable." This comment is so thought provoking. I love it.

Tomorrow is Senior Missionary Day. We all have lunch together and have a day of fun. I am looking forward to the day. We have been in Peru about 2 months. I am Bob's shadow and cannot do much by myself because it is not safe.
