A Small Business Owner Delivering Food to the Market
Life in Peru is very challenging for a large portion of the population. Many can barely afford the bus fare to go to work. I see many mothers with small babies selling fruit from a family farm. The mother will just sit on the sidewalk with her children and take in a small amount of money selling cactus apples or grapes. (Cactus Apples have very small needles that are removed before being sold) The man in this picture is pulling his own cart. Usually we see these carts attached to a motor cycle.
